Accor takes another step towards franchise expansion and signs a contract for a new venture in Sorriso, Mato Grosso, Brazil. This will be the ibis Styles brand's first hotel in the city, scheduled to open in 2027, with an architectural project by Marabuco.
According to Abel Castro, Chief Development Officer Accor Americas in the Premium, Midscale & Economy division, this new signature reflects not only Accor's strategy to expand its presence throughout Brazil, but also the growth of the chain in rapidly developing agricultural cities such as Sorriso. "By offering a high-quality lodging experience, we bring Accor's standard of excellence to the destination and contribute to local economic development by creating new jobs," he said.
ibis Styles Sorriso will have 120 apartments, a restaurant, gym, meeting rooms and WOJO coworking spaces, located on Sorriso's main avenue, close to entertainment options and the city's shopping center.
The new development comes to further expand Accor's presence in Mato Grosso, which already had three hotels in operation in the region – ibis Sinop, ibis Cuiabá and ibis Styles Rondonópolis, and to strengthen its partnership with Falcon, which adds ibis Styles Sorriso to its portfolio of managed hotels along with others in the chain, such as ibis Cuiabá.
"We are excited to make a new addition to Accor's portfolio in the State. We believe in the potential of Sorriso which, despite its short history of only 37 years, is already recognized as the national capital of agribusiness and one of the largest soy producers in the world. We very much hope that this novelty will bear fruit for other Accor projects in the region," adds Abel.
The hotel consolidates Accor's partnership with Pedra do Reino Investimentos and Dotz Empreendimentos, real estate developers focused on the hotel sector, which already have 10 contracts signed with the Group.
Felipe Haeckel, owner, partner and director of Pedra do Reino Investimentos, comments on the new signature in partnership with Accor. "We are very happy with this new hotel in Sorriso, the country's agricultural capital. Development in cities linked to agribusiness is in line with our other operations, such as: Petrolina (PE), Rio Verde (GO), Araguaína (TO) and Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA). We will continue to develop in the Mato Grosso region and destinations that have a correlation with Agribusiness".
