Accor will open an ibis Styles hotel at Debrecen Airport. The new hotel will welcome first guests in 2025.
Thanks to agreement signed with Xanga Investment and Development Group, one of the largest investment and development groups in Eastern Hungary, Accor will open an ibis Styles hotel in the second largest city in Hungary. The future ibis Styles will be the first hotel in the vicinity of Debrecen International Airport, the second busiest airport of the country.

Debrecen is a well-known educational and cultural hub, and the most important economic centre of the Eastern region. There are many international companies operating in the city. In the recent years Debrecen hosted several large-scale regional, national and international cultural, sport and business events. To prove that Debrecen is the driver of economic development in the region, since 2015 18 500+ new workplaces were created in the volume of 12 000+ million EUR including BMW Group's new iFactory. Debrecen International Airport is the second most important international airport in Hungary, the passenger traffic at the airport is increasing dynamically. The record level was in 2019, the last year before Covid-19 pandemic, with 600,000 passengers using the airport. The number of passengers registered in 2022 exceeded 250,000, the expected number is 300,000 for 2023. Industry estimates predict that passenger traffic could recover to the 2019 level by around 2025, and 1,5-2 million until 2030.
