Accor reveals the portfolio growth and development momentum of its ibis Styles brand in Europe, with 20 hotels opened and 16 hotels signed under the ibis Styles brand in 2023 to date.
Due to this year's signings, more than 1,200 rooms in total were added to the pipeline between 2023-2026 across 8 countries in Europe. The brand strengthens its presence with five hotel signings in France, three in Romania, two in Spain, two in Poland along with hotels announced in Estonia and the UK.
The ibis Styles will see the further expansion aiming to enter a new market in the Nordics region. A first ibis Styles will also open in Cluj, the second destination for the brand in Romania. The 110-room property is scheduled to open in April 2025 and will have a standalone restaurant and a large conference room.
A new ibis Styles hotel is under construction in Burton-Upon-Trent, UK. The hotel will consist of 81 rooms and is expected to open in the second half of 2024. Accor's brand will also expand into the Mediterranean, set to open in Benidorm, Spain in 2025. Located in an ideal beach-side location, the new ibis Styles will be located in an existing property, currently undergoing a full refurbishment to offer 131 rooms, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool and rooftop, as well as a vibrant design and a fun atmosphere.
In 2023, Accor has opened 20 ibis Styles across Europe. This includes the colourful ibis Styles Rotterdam Ahoy in The Netherlands boasting 250 contemporary rooms, which creative design is reflected in playful details, such as cloud-shaped accents. An oasis of greenery, surreal shapes and popping splashes of color make this hotel a true ibis Styles.
This year the brand announced its first foray into the Nordics with an opening of ibis Styles Copenhagen Ørestad – the first Accor property in Denmark. The 186-room hotel brings the brand's creative design to the fore, offering guests a stunning and impactful design that combines urban living with the serenity of nature.
Flagship openings in France include ibis Styles Porto Vecchio, which became the brand's second hotel on the Isle of Beauty, perfectly located for discovering southern Corsica with its heavenly beaches and hiking trails. The brand portfolio grew this year with the openings in Germany: ibis Styles Singen, whose interior design was inspired by the multifaceted region of Hegau, and ibis Styles Bielefeld with a design focused on the symbol of the theatre world – a black and white mask.
In addition, the flagship properties of the brand were introduced in the Eastern European destinations: ibis Styles Pitesti Arges in Romania (with the design concept around the signature city event – annual Tulip Symphony Festival), ibis Styles Kaunas Centre in Lithuania (with the basketball-themed design) along with airport locations at Warsaw Airport (a property featuring chess motif in the design) and Bucharest Airport (a hotel which storytelling pays a tribute to its owner's passion – love of flying).
