• More Americans Plan to Travel for the Holidays This Year

27% of Americans say they plan to travel for Thanksgiving and/or the December holidays, up from 20% last year, according to the Ipsos Consumer Tracker

Ipsos;

The Ipsos Consumer Tracker asks Americans questions about culture, the economy and the forces that shape our lives. Here's one thing we learned this week.

Why we asked about holiday travel: 'Tis the season…

What we found: 27% say they plan to travel for Thanksgiving and/or the December holidays, up from 20% last year. Among those who plan to travel, December road trips jumped from 36% to 50%, but plans were otherwise pretty flat from last year. Half plan to travel by car for Thanksgiving, a much smaller group (15%) by plane and a similar ratio for December. We’ll see if fluctuating gas prices have an impact on that as we get closer to the holidays.
