The Inn at Mattei's Tavern, Auberge Resort Collection, a historic landmark turned luxury destination in Los Olivos, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joern Schwaiger as General Manager. A seasoned hospitality veteran with over 20 years of luxury hotel experience, Joern will oversee all operations for the 6.5 acre property.

Prior to The Inn at Mattei's Tavern, Joern opened luxury hotels around the world, from Dubai to Beijing and Manila, as well as reopening the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York. He's worked with brands worldwide such as Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and Raffles Hotels, most recently as the Director of Operations at the Triple Forbes Five Star, Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego.

"The Inn at Mattei's Tavern is a very special landmark that has remained at the heart of the community for hundreds of years," said Joern Schwaiger. "I am looking forward to experiencing the traditions, stories and memories that have been created here over many years, and having the opportunity to create new ones for the current generation."

Born and raised in Karlshruhe, Germany, Joern's passion for hospitality and different cultures has taken him through North America, the Middle East, and Asia, before returning to the United States. He is an avid sports fan, loves the outdoors, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
