With more than 25 years of experience with Four Seasons, Richard Raab has taken on his most exciting assignment yet as he looks ahead to the opening of the stunning new Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol.
“The breadth of Richard’s experience and his deep commitment to offering our guests luxury with genuine heart positioned him perfectly to take on the role of General Manager of our newest location in Mexico,” says Antoine Chahwan, Four Seasons President, Hotel Operations – Americas. “With the creation of this new resort experience well underway, Richard has been deeply involved in all aspects of development, from design details and dining concepts to resort programming and the all-important priority of assembling the team, who will ultimately bring the Four Seasons experience to life for our guests.”
Most recently General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay – an urban resort on its own island in the country’s capital - and the former Four Seasons Hotel Lion Place St. Petersburg, Richard’s Four Seasons career began in the food and beverage division at the legendary Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. From there he went on to Hawaii before returning to the UK, where Swedish-born Richard had earned his second hospitality degree at the University of Surrey. Subsequent assignments took him to the Caribbean, back to LA and to the first of two assignments in the Middle East at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.
Now in the popular and highly developed destination of Cabo San Lucas, Richard is certain that the new Four Seasons will stand out. “Our location on the Baja Peninsula’s sunny southern coast is second to none, with every one of our guest rooms and suites, not to mention a full array of restaurants and bars, all having sparkling ocean views,” he says, noting that even the fitness centre will have a view. “From the very moment you arrive in our open-air lobby modern hacienda, you’ll be embraced by the warmth of our familia as we create magical memories for our guests.”
With a Mexican chic meets cool Mediterranean vibe, guests can look forward to an immersive resort experience, with a wide beach and multiple pools, a range of dining and drinking experiences enjoyed to the rhythms of Mexican music, art and culture, plus a garden spa, world class golf, watersports and whale watching just offshore, an events clubhouse and more. The Resort’s deeply connected Concierge team will be available before and during every visit to tailor every individual’s holiday, whether on-site, out on the town or exploring Baja via land or sea.
Beyond its beautiful design, perfect location and lengthy list of amenities and diversions, Richard is quick to pinpoint what will set this resort apart: “It’s our people, no question. The team we are assembling now includes the very best local talent and Four Seasons veterans from around the world who all have one thing in common – they love nothing more than to make other people happy.”
