The Americas region ended the year with a 5.6-percent increase in occupancy to 57.8 percent, average daily rate finished virtually flat with a 0.6-percent increase to US$100.32, and revenue per available room was up 6.2 percent for the year to US$57.99.
The region’s occupancy rose 6.3 percent to 64.2 percent, average daily rate went up 1.7 percent to US$100.45, and revenue per available room increased 8.1 percent to US$64.48.
In May 2010, the region’s occupancy rose 7.5 percent to 59.1 percent, average daily rate ended the month virtually flat with a 0.2-percent decrease to US$99.10, and revenue per available room increased 7.8 percent to US$58.54.
