With the Middle East and Africa (MEA) division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) planning to double its hotels over five years, the company today announced that Alex Kyriakidis, a top global executive at Deloitte LLP, has been named president and managing director of the division, effective January 1, 2012.
Gross Operating Profit per Available Room (GOPPAR) performance increased by a staggering 55.8% for the month of August underpinned by a significant increase in the value and volume of leisure and event-related demand.
He will be responsible for growing Hilton Worldwide’s luxury brands, including Conrad and Waldorf Astoria, across North America and broadening the company’s overall brand presence across key markets.
