Hunter Hotel Advisors announced today that the firm recently advised on the sale of the 113 guest room Holiday Inn Express San Diego Sea World/Beach Area hotel within close proximity to nearly every major San Diego attraction. Hunter exclusively represented Excel Hotel Group, a San Diego-based hotel management group, and arranged the sale to another California investor.
“The prime location helped generate multiple offers for the asset. We were able to capitalize on our relationships with a complete range of hotel investors including institutional REITs, private equity and regional investors,” said Danny Givertz, senior vice president of Hunter Hotel Advisor’s L.A. office who brokered the transaction. Givertz also credited the tremendous buyer interest to the hotel’s recent rebranding to Holiday Inn Express and the high barrier to entry of the San Diego market.
“Hunter has seen a strong interest in assets in the West Coast’s top urban markets including San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco,” said Givertz. In addition to the new Holiday Inn Express San Diego, Hunter’s L.A. office had 16 closings over the past 12 months the majority being Hilton, Marriott and IHG branded assets representing over 2,100 units.
Hunter’s seven brokerage offices specialize in select and full-service hotels and currently represent more than 100 hospitality assets nationally.
