Wolfgang M. Neumann, President & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group, commented, “The re-opening of the Radisson Blu Hotel Kuwait signifies the launch of a new chapter of history for the property, which opened in 1980 with my predecessor, Kurt Ritter, as General Manager. From this property, Kurt grew the Radisson Blu brand across the Middle East, Europe and Africa, and made Rezidor the internationally successful company that it is today, with a remaining passion for business development in the Middle East.”
The newly-improved Radisson Blu Hotel Kuwait underwent KD 15 million of investment, which has transformed the property, both structurally and decoratively. The hotel now offers a five-star modernized interior, with the introduction of Sky Lounge – a glass-encased rooftop facility with panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf, exclusively reserved for Business Class and Suite guests. Sky Lounge will offer refreshments served either inside or on the outside terrace throughout the day, as well as business facilities (free WIFI access, computer work stations with printer, and complementary reading materials).
191 guest rooms including six Junior Suites, 16 Executive Suites, six Deluxe Suites, one Admiral Suite, and one Presidential Suite – all of which deliver Radisson Blu signature services such as complementary high-speed internet access and high-end in-room facilities as standard. The décor of the guest rooms and suites will alternate between three distinctive styles; ‘Naturally Cool’; a modern design comprising of a soft blue and neutral colour palette, ‘And Relax’; a calming and soothing environment using carved wooden accents, and ‘NY Mansion House’; based on a traditional but sophisticated uptown mansion house. Of particular note, the Presidential Suite has been extended and upgraded, and now features an extra 55sqm of space, and the installation of floor-to-ceiling windows in both the living room and bedroom, to allow guests to enjoy the stunning views of the ocean.
The hotel’s food and beverage options have also undergone improvements; Eedam Café & Gourmet Shop will now include Starbucks® Coffee products on the menu, all to be enjoyed on comfortable sofas and in an extended seating area – complete with WiFi connection and easy-access power points, ideal for business customers. Continuing to serve authentic Asian cuisine, Peacock Restaurant has also been enhanced, through the use of wood, glass and cloth decorations, along with paintings and framed Chinese artifacts.
Finally, Dasman Ballroom is an additional facility which has been developed for events and meetings, with 360sqm of space that can accommodate 200 persons at capacity, or be reconfigured into a variety of configurations. Dasman Ballroom is fully equipped with modern audio-visual and communications equipment, three adjacent meeting rooms, and a pre-function area, as well as separate lobby entrance for car access. As a Radisson Blu hotel, Dasman Ballroom also offers the “Experience Meetings” concept for meetings and events; which promises to deliver high-end products and services, including the main three core components: Brain Box, Brain Food and free internet.
