Hostmark Hospitality Group, one of the nation’s largest hotel management companies, has commenced operating the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare.  Ownership of the hotel was transferred to a new entity formed by its lenders, as the property emerged from bankruptcy.

“There was uncertainty about future ownership and management as the hotel struggled in bankruptcy for the past two years, but those legal proceedings are behind us,” said Peter Connolly, Executive VP of Operations and Development, Hostmark Hospitality Group. “We are confident that under Hostmark’s management we can take the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare—which we think already is the best hotel in the O’Hare market—to the next level. “

Located in Rosemont, Illinois, the InterContinental O’Hare has 556 luxury guest rooms, including 70 suites, and more than 53,000 square feet of event/meeting space. Hostmark has retained nearly all of the hotel’s 200 associates.

“The hotel has a terrific staff,” Connolly said. “Coupled with Hostmark’s noted ability to effect smooth transitions, we are confident that together we will continue the InterContinental O’Hare’s exceptional service levels and improve its profitability.” Since its inception in 1965, Hostmark has successfully provided management services for more than 350 hotels, resorts and restaurants.

Headquartered in Schaumburg, IL, with Development offices in Denver, CO, and Cairo, Egypt, Hostmark Hospitality Group is an award-winning operator of Marriott, Hilton, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Starwood and Wyndham Hotels.
