With 25 Years of Hospitality Experience, Lunn Will Oversee Renovation and Opening of Four-Star Times Square Hotel Debuting Spring 2011

Deborah Lunn has been appointed general manager of the new Sanctuary Hotel inTimes Square.  Bringing over 25 years of hospitality experience to her new role, Lunn will oversee the final stages of the transformation and launch of the four-star Sanctuary Hotel, debuting in spring 2011 (currently operating as the Portland Square Hotel).

“With over two decades of demonstrated leadership in the hospitality industry, most notably in Manhattan, Deborah is the ideal addition to our team,” said Hank Freid, CEO of Impulsive Group, Sanctuary Hotel owner and operator.  “Having successfully opened many New York City hotels, Deborah will use her extensive knowledge of the city’s luxury market to ensure guests receive an enhanced experience at the new Sanctuary Hotel.” 

 
Formerly known among colleagues as Deborah McCluskey, Lunn is a leader in the hospitality industry previously holding the positions of general manger for Kimpton’s Ink48 Hotel and the Empire Hotel, both during the opening of each property.  Lunn also served as the general manager and director of operations for the W New York – the Court & Tuscany.  Throughout her tenure, she held various positions within Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Park Lane Hotels International.  Often recognized for her hard work and dedication, she received accolades such as the “Survivor Award” at Kimpton’s annual general manager’s conference in January 2010 and the StarVoice Best in Class award from Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2005.
 
Passionate about sharing her knowledge with others, Lunn taught accelerated hospitality courses at New York University’s School for Continuing Education for several years.  She has also completed a number of hospitality certifications and trainings such as the Six Sigma green belt certification and attended Arizona State University.
