Accor to open three hotels in Germany's second largest city this year
Accor is adding to its presence in Germany with the opening of Novotel Hamburg Central Station. Set to open its doors to guests on 25th March 2024, the hotel features 227 rooms and suites, with a prime location next to the city's main railway station and shopping street of Mönckebergstrasse. Strategically positioned for city explorers, families and business travellers alike, the hotel capitalises on its central location and excellent transportation links. The hotel's public area features an open space concept, comprising the lobby, co-working spaces, relaxation zones, the MYSA Bar & Lounge, and the Swedish-inspired MYSA Eatery restaurant with Nordic-German influences. Additionally, the hotel offers five meeting and event rooms and a fitness centre.
Accor's development ambitions for the second largest city in Germany
Accor has ambitious plans for 2024, with three hotels scheduled to open in Hamburg, offering a combined capacity of 793 rooms. Following the opening of Novotel Hamburg Central Station, Accor will welcome the ibis Styles HafenCity and Novotel Hamburg HafenCity to the group's portfolio in the second half of 2024. The ibis Styles HafenCity will intertwine affordability with the brand's unapologetically fun and design-forward ethos, while the midscale Novotel Hamburg HafenCity will combine warm, modern design with thoughtful wellbeing and entertainment offerings for both business travellers and families. Including this latest opening, Accor currently operates 21 hotels in Hamburg.
Novotel Hamburg Central Station
The hotel manager of the new Novotel Hamburg Central Station, Italian-born Daniele Ruiu, brings over two decades of Accor hotel management experience in both German and international destinations. Before starting his role in Hamburg, Mr. Ruiu successfully managed the Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20 in Thailand.
Daniele Ruiu expresses his enthusiasm for his new challenge: "Hamburg is an extraordinary city that has retained its charm whilst embracing international influences. It is precisely this appealing mix that we want to convey to our guests when they arrive at the Novotel Hamburg Central Station."
Erwin van der Graaf, Vice President Operations Managed Hotels Benelux & DACH at Accor, adds: "By founding the first Novotel in Lille more than 55 years ago, Accor laid the foundations for its success story. Today, Novotel offers destination hotels designed as comforting and energising places. We want our guests to 'press pause' and take time to enjoy the moments that really matter. This philosophy is perfectly reflected in our new Novotel Hamburg Central Station, our latest Novotel flagship in Hamburg and the region."
Rooms and design
The exterior of the Novotel Hamburg Central Station showcases clean lines and typical Hamburg brickwork, while expansive floor-to-ceiling windows flood the hotel's interior with natural light. The 227 guest rooms and suites, designed by the internationally acclaimed Sundukovy Sisters, feature amenities such as Nespresso coffee machines, smart TVs, and rain showers. Rituals, the renowned home & body brand from The Netherlands, provides the bath amenities.
The MYSA Eatery restaurant brings a fresh take on Nordic cuisine inspired by the Swedish way of life, always using the freshest regional ingredients for locals and hotel guests. The MYSA Bar & Lounge offers barista coffee, tea specialties, and creative cocktails for those seeking a coffee break or evening beverage.
Guests can catch up on some work or take a breather in the Play & Relax area and social hubs. The hotel's 24-hour fitness centre provides added convenience.
Families – drawn to the city's family attractions as well as its musical and cultural life – also form a significant guest demographic for Novotel. Accordingly, the Novotel Hamburg Central Station features 20 dedicated family rooms and welcomes families with a small gift upon check-in. In addition, families will find a variety of toys, games, and books available in the public area of the hotel. With Novotel's year-round family offer, children up to 16 years old can stay for free in their parent's room and enjoy complimentary breakfast. Families who need some extra space can book a second double room at half the regular rate listed on all.com.
Business travellers as well as event and conference guests can make use of the five multi-purpose function rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
