The new 136-room TRIBE Baden-Baden is operated by the Cologne-based The Chocolate on the Pillow Group and features a gym and the Social Hub as TRIBE Signature. Instead of a traditional restaurant, the TRIBE Baden-Baden welcomes its guests with a lounge-style café and bar concept including a 24/7 Grab & Go counter. In summer, the laid-back terrace invites guests to enjoy drinks and snacks outside.
Founded in 2017, the TRIBE hotel brand promises "more for less" and focuses on travellers craving design hotels at affordable prices: the interior of the hotels are aesthetic, modern and individual with functional guest rooms and the "Social Hub" as TRIBE Signature. Selected design pieces and high-quality bath amenities by Kevin Murphy are combined with standardised furnishings and second-hand elements to create an eclectic and unique mix for each hotel. TRIBE hotels are designed to give guests everything they need and nothing they don't.
The design concept perfectly blends into the sophisticated spa town of Baden-Baden. The idea of the hotel design, which was developed under the lead of the multi-brand hotel operator The Chocolate on the Pillow Group, was to transfer the historical charm and refined character of the city into a contemporary look. The TRIBE Baden-Baden has 136 guest rooms, including a family room with a double bed and an additional bunk bed. The Social Hub is a signature feature of each of the 12 TRIBE Hotels worldwide: multi-functional, it offers the right space and atmosphere to work, or take a break and enjoy - alone or in good company. In line with this ethos the TRIBE Baden-Baden features a relaxed café and bar concept instead of a classic restaurant. In summer, the best place to enjoy cocktails, or barista-made coffee is the trendy outdoor terrace.
The colour palette features dark blue, brown, and rich orange in the carpet of the rooms, the wall colour, and the seat covers etc. The dark wall and floor tones create a cosy atmosphere, while the clear, often curved lines and the strikingly shaped furnishings create an elegant ambience. A true eye-catcher is the terracotta-coloured tiled round bar, which brings back the era of the 70s design.
"We are delighted to celebrate the first TRIBE opening in Germany together with The Chocolate on the Pillow Group. TRIBE is a vibrant brand that shows what smart hospitality looks like in the midscale segment. It unconditionally places sophisticated design and high-end quality at the centre, but does not lose sight of the essentials, namely what our guests really need. Our pipeline is strong, with 30 further hotel openings planned in Europe alone by the end of 2026. Driven by bold & urban design, our hotels bring international lifestyle trends and are embodied by cool, fancy and authentic staff members who master the art of taking care of our guests. Our hotels are lively places where coffee lovers rub shoulder with afterwork enthusiasts, hotels where people come together to work, celebrate and enjoy", explains Pauline Oster, Vice President TRIBE Europe & North Africa.
"We are proud to be the first to introduce the TRIBE brand in Germany. With the TRIBE Baden-Baden, we are establishing a new hospitality concept on the domestic hotel market and adding another exceptional hotel to our portfolio. At the same time, the project demonstrates the strong development, design and operations expertise of The Chocolate on the Pillow Group, which enables us to act flexibly and with a quick turnaround time," says Erik Florvaag, CEO and Managing Partner of The Chocolate on the Pillow Group.
TRIBE is targeting two more markets in the next two months. The TRIBE Budapest Airport opened in mid-December 2023, a TRIBE Hotel in Milan Malpensa will follow at the beginning of next year. The most recent openings include the TRIBE Lyon Croix Rousse, the TRIBE Paris Saint-Ouen, and the TRIBE London Canary Wharf. A further 50 TRIBE Hotels will open worldwide over the next five years.
