Hilton (NYSE: HLT) recently announced the signing of Hilton Cairo New Capital Tower, in partnership with Amazon for Urban Development. The new-build property is currently under construction and will occupy the top floors of the iconic, mixed-use tower sitting in the heart of Egypt’s highly anticipated New Administrative Capital (NAC).
Located in the heart of the NAC’s masterplan, Hilton Cairo New Capital Tower is ideally located in the Central Business District, surrounded by both government and private offices, the Diplomatic Quarter, as well as several key residential areas within NAC. The property is in close proximity to the recently inaugurated Capital International Airport and will have convenient access to the transportation network connecting NAC to other parts of Cairo, including the Mono-Rail and Cairo Light Rail lines.
Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, said, “We are excited to be working closely with Amazon for Urban Development to bring the award-winning Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand to Cairo’s New Administrative Capital. As a key central and business hub, the hotel sits in a unique location, giving guests access to one of the capital’s vibrant business communities.”
Hilton Cairo New Capital Tower will house 120 units, including 72 guest rooms and 48 one-bedroom suites, four food and beverage outlets, a pool and a fully equipped fitness centre.
“Partnering with Hilton to open Hilton Cairo New Capital Tower is in line with our upscale vision for the New Administrative Capital,” said Eng. Hossam Abouelsoud, chairman, Amazon for Urban Development. “As we continue to make exciting progress, ensuring our hospitality offering matches the high standards set for this iconic development is instrumental to our approach. Hilton Hotels & Resorts is a well-known global brand that enjoys a longstanding legacy in Egypt, making it the perfect choice to accommodate guests staying in the heart of the NAC.”
Hilton plans to double its portfolio across Egypt – the company currently has 14 trading hotels in the country with another 16 in the pipeline. Of the trading properties, six are located in Cairo, with another seven under development, including the recently opened Waldorf Astoria Cairo Heliopolis and the soon to open Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi.
