Arlo Hotels celebrated the official grand opening of Arlo Chicago, the newest boutique property within the Arlo brand portfolio. The celebration, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, welcomed executives from hotel partners Quadrum Global and Oxford Capital Group and representatives from the City of Chicago and official tourism organizations such as Choose Chicago and the Magnificent Mile Association. The celebration also featured remarks by Amir Setayesh, managing director of Quadrum Global, and John W. Rutledge, founder and CEO of Oxford Capital Group.
The 218-room Arlo Chicago marks Arlo Hotels' debut in the Midwest region and the brand's sixth hotel overall. Arlo's other properties include Arlo Midtown, Arlo SoHo and Arlo NoMad in New York City; Nautilus by Arlo in Miami Beach; and the recently opened Arlo Wynwood, the first-ever hotel in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood.
"The reason that we chose Chicago, it's a marriage that just makes sense for us with the cultural activities, the entertainment and the hospitality," explained Setayesh. "Arlo is very proud to be part of Chicago and we thank the city for welcoming us."
The grand opening event also unveiled original artwork by Brooke Einbender (aka Mindbender Art), a pioneering artist in the "phygital" (physical + digital art) space. The new pieces were created specifically for Arlo Chicago's elevators, a brand standard that is slated to appear across all Arlo properties.
The event also included light bites from Yum Dum Truck and sweet treats from the Museum of Ice Cream. Guests mingled around the hotel's lobby, which includes Arlo Hotels' signature Post-it board that allows guests to leave notes and well wishes for other travelers. Attendees were entertained by DJ Drew Jensen and a surprise performance by a Michael Jackson impersonator.
Arlo Chicago is located in the heart of downtown Chicago, steps from iconic Millennium Park.
