CBRE announced earlier this month that industry veteran Lawrence Britvan has joined CBRE Capital Markets as President and Vice Chairman, Institutional Hotels, Debt to focus on financing solutions for commercial real estate sponsors and lenders.
Mr. Britvan has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and specializes in hospitality-related transactions, including debt, equity, joint venture, and investment sales. He was involved in more than $6 billion in capital markets activity in 2021. Based in Los Angeles and New York City, he complements CBRE’s Debt & Structured Finance professionals focused on the hospitality sector that closed nearly $3 billion in financings in the U.S. during 2021.
“Lawrence is a uniquely skilled capital markets advisor with a deep understanding of hospitality and the most active investors across the capital stack. With Lawrence, CBRE will further differentiate the breadth and depth of the strategic advice we provide hospitality sponsors and lenders,” said Brian Stoffers, Global President of Debt & Structured Finance for CBRE.
“CBRE is the premier hospitality real estate platform in the industry, combining a diverse group of specialized services and hotel-centric expertise in all major markets into a fully-integrated offering. The depth of talented professionals and strength of the platform sets CBRE apart from competitors and will enhance the value I can provide to clients,” said Mr. Britvan.
Mr. Britvan joins CBRE from Hodges Ward Elliott, where he served as Group Head of Capital Markets since 2016. Prior to that, he was a member of the senior management team at CCRE and previously worked in the real estate finance team at Credit Suisse. He began his career in the industry as an attorney advising on real estate financing matters.
