Single Digits continues to build on its strong momentum in hospitality with the addition of the former Marriott executive.

Single Digits;

Today, Single Digits announces Carlos Lugo has joined as Vice President and General Manager of Hospitality. As an IT Executive with over 20 years’ experience, Lugo has led enterprise-level digital transformations with proven success in global infrastructure planning, capacity/cost projections, financial systems, IT governance, telecom, point of sale systems, and digital trends.

“Single Digits has been one of the top players in the market ever since I’ve been in hospitality,” said Lugo. “Between the leadership we have in place and the partnerships we are able to leverage, Single Digits is poised to continue enhancing our core business while we team with brand executives to deliver sustainable, next-gen connectivity solutions that anticipate the needs of their guests.”

Most recently, Lugo acted as Regional Director, Global IT at Marriott, where he developed and launched a $54 million in annual labor cost savings by pioneering AI-enabled PBX natural language learning offering that will interface with WLANs to enhance guest support and reduce demand on customer support. He is an active member of HTNG Workgroups, where he plays an integral part developing the standard operating procedures for implementation of AI for Hospitality, as well as a Hybrid Meetings and Events playbook to help hospitality companies adapt to the short-term and long-term effects of the pandemic. He was also responsible for testing, strategy, and go-to-market for the Workgroup output at Marriott.

“Single Digits is continuing to invest aggressively in extending our hospitality leadership position, and we are thrilled to have Carlos join our management team,” said CEO Mike Sargent. “His transformational leadership and operational expertise will enable us to have an even greater impact on guest experience and accelerate our growth.”

Lugo’s leadership is a natural fit as Single Digits seeks to set a new standard for the guest Wi-Fi experience with planned multimillion-dollar investments to build and expand on its 19-year hospitality heritage: Single Digits enables 5 million daily network users to access industry-leading connectivity in more than 500,000 rooms in over 3,000 hotel properties across the globe.

“Carlos is the perfect executive to build on the Single Digits hospitality heritage,” said David Mace of GI Partners. “His experience and relationships will help us take Single Digits’ hospitality business to the next level.”
