Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the signing of Hilton Garden Inn Sydney Kingswood, marking the sixth Hilton Garden Inn hotel in the pipeline for Australasia and the brand’s entry into Sydney, Australia’s largest gateway city. In partnership with Boston Global, Hilton will manage the newly built 140-room property in the heart of Western Sydney, which also marks the Hilton’s third brand in Sydney, joining Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Curio Collection by Hilton.

“As we prepare to launch our award-winning Hilton Garden Inn brand in Australia with the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Albany in Western Australia in late 2021, we are pleased to be expanding the brand’s presence into Sydney as we look to achieve our ambition to double our footprint in Australasia in the next five years,” said Guy Phillips, senior vice president, development, Asia and Australasia, Hilton.

“Hilton is thrilled to partner with Boston Global on Hilton Garden Inn Sydney Kingswood and looks forward to forging an enduring relationship. The hotel’s location in the heart of the growing economic powerhouse of Western Sydney, already Australia’s third-largest economy*, will cater to both domestic and international leisure and business visitors travelling to this metropolis,” he added.

When the hotel opens in early 2023, it will be located 64 kilometres from Sydney International Airport and only 16 kilometres from the new Western Sydney International Airport at Badgerys Creek, expected to accept its first arrivals in 2026. The hotel is also strategically positioned in the middle of Nepean Health Hub. One of Sydney’s largest health precincts, Nepean Health Hub is currently undergoing a redevelopment of more than $1 billion and is an important part of the area’s largest industry, health care and social assistance*. Hilton Garden Inn Sydney Kingswood will also be a short walk to Western Sydney University and close to Penrith’s key commercial, entertainment and cultural attractions, as well as to the foothills of the Blue Mountains.

Corey Cooney, group managing director, Boston Global said, “Boston Global and its investors are delighted to partner with Hilton for the strength and recognition of their best-in-class brands. This project will bring their Hilton Garden Inn brand to Sydney for the first time, and the new hotel designed by Rothelowman will include high-quality facilities to meet community needs, including wellness and food and beverage options. The project is due to complete in the first quarter of 2023.”

When Hilton Garden Inn Sydney Kingswood opens, it will provide an upscale and affordable accommodation option to travellers and hospital patrons. The hotel will feature 140 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, meeting facilities, a fitness room, rooftop bar, and “The Shop”, a 24-hour grab-and-go retail store where essentials, as well as local beverages and tasty treats, are available.

“With over 40 hotels in Asia Pacific and more than 100 hotels in the pipeline, our goal is to be everywhere in the region that travellers want to be,” said Jenny Milos, vice president, Focused Service & All Suites Brand Management, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “The coming years will be an exciting time of growth for Western Sydney, and Hilton Garden Inn Sydney Kingswood will allow visitors to experience the Hilton Garden Inn brand’s positive, upbeat service and value-added amenities.”
