Meyer Jabara Hotels Promotes Vince DiFonzo CHA as GM of Four Hotels in Maryland and Delaware
Meyer Jabara Hotels has given veteran General Manager Vince DiFonzo the leadership responsibility for four company managed hotels in Maryland and Delaware. He will report to Si Sloman, Meyer Jabara executive vice president.
DiFonzo, who has been with Meyer Jabara since 1992, was most recently general manager of the Hilton Wilmington/Christiana, a 266-room hotel in Newark, DE. In his new capacity, DiFonzo will continue his current responsibilities at the Hilton. In addition, he will assume the management responsibilities for Meyer Jabara’s three independent hotels in Baltimore: the Brookshire Suites, Pier 5, and The Admiral Fell Inn. DiFonzo replaces Ken Conklin, also of Meyer Jabara, who was recently promoted to senior vice president of Destination Experiences and Marketing.
With his additional responsibilities, DiFonzo will serve on the Leadership Management Team providing personal development and training for other Meyer Jabara general managers and key staff at the property level.
“Vince is a true leader and an inspiration to others,” said Sloman. “We have transitioned Vince into multiple property GM role to create geographic synergies by strategically staffing our hotels based on proximity to one another. This allows Meyer Jabara to maximize revenue production and profit improvement while encouraging the sharing of best practices.”
DiFonzo is a certified hotel administrator (CHA) and a certified food and beverage executive (CFBE). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University where graduated magna cum laude. DiFonzo serves on the board of the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, and is past chair and board member of the Delaware Hotel and Lodging Association. He also serves as a guest lecturer for the University of Delaware’s Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management School.
